home – dwelling, known
bound – nostalgia tinged, fragile pasts
Home/Bound marks the return of artists Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan. It is a narrative of place, of settlement and its disruption through visual signification and the immaterial contrast between the rural past and urban contemporary. Wherein home is what we know, bound is what we are; towards and within our encounter of the nostalgic. Against a childhood seaside, the artists depict an unraveling of the home, of departure and the intricacies of coming back to a place both familiar and changed.
