The body of work, entitled Not Today, consist of collaborative mixed media paintings/drawings on paper by Adam Flores and Alvin Pagdanganan Gregorio. Not Today suggests the complex balance between temptation and discipline. It acknowledges the artists’ tendencies towards addiction, inherited and/or cultivated. Bundled within this phrase, are sentiments of defiance and rebellion, as well as acceptance and the ability to redefine our conditioning and perceptions. These works are aesthetically rooted in Los Angeles Hip Hop culture, although extends into the roots of the artist’s cultural origins.
