I am a studio artist interested in the interplay of form, space, and gesture in painting. I experience the act of painting as continuous composing, requiring a lot of stepping back – like problem-solving. I reference observations on human behavior, literature, and belief systems, and most of the time my works are a reflection of my attitude towards these subjects. Painting is a tool for and a product of image-making and it is also controlled energy and a state of mind. I am lucky to have found it as a medium to make sense of the things that give me a sense of awe and unease towards living.
